Happy Street is a vibrant urban design proposal for Newtown, Kolkata, spanning 80,000 square feet and developed under the auspices of NKDA (Newtown Kolkata Development Authority). The concept transforms a prominent city lane near Central Mall and New Town Mela Ground into an interactive public space, dedicated to recreation, wellness, and community engagement through activity zones for sports, yoga, street art, and family-friendly events. This design fosters a pedestrian-friendly environment promoting health, joy, and collective experiences while integrating modern infrastructure and innovative installations, in line with NKDA’s vision for smart and sustainable city living.
